The United States has begun vaccinating primary school-aged children against COVID-19, which has been hailed as a “major step forward” in the country’s fight against the coronavirus by top US health experts.

The Biden administration has committed enough doses to safeguard the nation’s 28 million youngsters aged five to eleven who have been authorized to receive pediatric coronavirus vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech.

Together, with science leading the charge, we have taken another important step forward in our nation’s fight against the virus that causes COVID-19,” said by Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
