According to information released on Thursday, US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar has introduced a resolution in the House of Representatives condemning abuses of religious liberty and human rights in India and urging Secretary of State Antony Blinken to designate India as a “country of particular concern.”

According to the US Congress website, the resolution was submitted on Tuesday and is co-sponsored by representatives Rashida Talib and Juan Vargas. It used the conclusions and recommendations of a report by the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom as the foundation for its justifications for designating India as a nation of special concern (USCIRF).
