The Pakistani government has decided to continue gas supply to the power and fertiliser sectors, despite a major gas shortage in the country during the winter season. Domestic and industrial consumers will face shortages.

The Cabinet Committee on Energy (CCoE), chaired by Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar, took this decision during a meeting on Thursday.

According to The News, the CCOE concluded that gas supply to “dedicated” consumers, such as electricity and fertiliser industries, would stay consistent.
