On October 27, people in the South Waziristan tribal territory held protests to mark the day India revoked the occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s special status.

The tribal elders held rallies in Kaniguram, Wana, and the deputy commissioner’s complex, pleading with the United Nations to take note of the Indian army’s atrocities against Kashmiris. The rallies were addressed by MNA Merajuddin, DeputyCommissioner Khalid Iqbal Khattak, and other authorities and local elders.
