Eight Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) members on Saturday condemned what they called the government’s “blatant, wilful and deliberate violation” of the Supreme Court’s Aug 18 order concerning PTI founder Imran Khan. In a statement, they said the court’s directive was clear, unequivocal and binding, but the executive had disregarded it and acted in defiance of the judiciary. The signatories stressed that the executive had no authority to ignore or override Supreme Court directions.
