Chinese UN Ambassador Fu Cong said on Saturday that maintaining the ceasefire and reopening the Strait of Hormuz are “urgent” priorities, adding that the issue will be high on the agenda during talks between China and the United States when US President Donald Trump visits Beijing. “I’m sure if the Hormuz is still closed by the time US President Donald Trump goes to China, this issue will be high on the agenda of the bilateral talks,” said Fu Cong. He added: “Off-course bilateral relations between China and the US go far beyond the issue of the Strait of Hormuz, and I think it is in the interest of both countries and both people.
