About 60,000 Israeli reservists are set to receive call-up orders, which the military will issue starting on Wednesday for an offensive against Hamas in Gaza city, after Defence Minister Israel Katz approved the army’s plans. The orders are not immediate, but rather slated to take place in several waves, according to the Israeli military and security officials. The majority − about 40,000 to 50,000 − would be ordered to show up for duty on September 2, Israeli media reported. Another wave is expected to occur in November to December, and a third wave in February to March 2026, the military said, according to The Times of Israel.
