The EU’s foreign policy chief has said sanctions against Israel “must be on the EU agenda” after comments from government ministers calling for aid and fuel for civilians to be cut off. Josep Borrell says the Israeli government should “unequivocally distance itself” from comments made by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, described by Mr Borrell as incitement to war crimes.
