Human Rights Watch has warned US and Iranian leaders that deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure violates the laws of war. “US and Iranian leaders are threatening deliberate attacks on civilian infrastructure,” Balkees Jarrah, the Middle East and North Africa director at Human Rights Watch, said in a statement. These threats come after “earlier fighting between the two countries in which their forces unlawfully attacked civilians and civilian objects in Iran, Gulf countries, and Israel,” Jarrah added.
