Republican presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump said he is looking forward to “achieving peace in the Middle East” and meeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday. The comments, shared on X, were taken from Mr Trump’s social media platform Truth Social and were attached to a photo of a letter from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas expressing his “grave concern” over the attempted assassination of Mr Trump last week. On Mr Abbas’s letter, Mr Trump wrote: “Mahmoud – so nice. Everything will be good.”
