A UN official stated on Sunday that nearly 280,000 Palestinians have fled Rafah in the past week on orders from the Israeli military. The Rafah border crossing remain closed and aid is scarce, UNRWA’s director of communications Tamra Al Rafie said as thousands go without food and water. “The crisis is already acute both in the shortage of food, tents, fuel, medicines… so things will reach yet another low of the crossing continue to be closed or getting very few trucks in,” she added.
