France’s Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne said on Monday that a ceasefire was needed in the Gaza Strip. Mr Sejourne said that negotiations on the ceasefire are progressing as he is due to meet several Arab and Western ministers as the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. “Things are moving forward but you always have to be careful in these discussions and negotiations. The situation in Gaza is catastrophic and we need a ceasefire,” he told Reuters.
