Algeria circulated a draft resolution to the 15 members of the UN Security Council late on Wednesday demanding an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza. This was done in collaboration with the state of Palestine, the Arab Group, the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation, and the Non-Aligned Movement. The move follows a council meeting that addressed the International Court of Justice’s decision ordering provisional measures on Israel in its war in Gaza.
