Religious scholar dies in South Waziristan blast

A prominent religious scholar, Mufti Jana Mir, was killed in a bomb explosion in Lower South Waziristan, police confirmed on Monday. DSP Wana Circle Asghar Ali Shah said that the explosion occurred on the ground floor of a supermarket located in the busy Rustam Bazaar. Mufti Mir sustained critical injuries in the blast and was immediately shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Wana, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment, the police officer added. Bangladesh President Shahabuddin resigns citing ill health

Several killed in blast in Afghan capital Kabul

Several people were killed in a blast in the Afghan capital Kabul's Shahr-e-Naw area, the Taliban interior ministry said on Monday. "According to preliminary reports, a number of people were killed and injured," Interior Ministry spokesperson Abdul Mateen Qani told Reuters. Kabul police spokesperson Khalid Zadran said the blast targeted a hotel in the commercial Shahr-e-Naw neighbourhood that includes large office buildings, shopping complexes and embassies. Crowds gather at Shahbag before Hadi’s body slated to arrive in Dhaka

Groups of people have begun assembling at Shahbag in central Dhaka as the body of Hadi is expected to arrive in the capital this evening.
