Russian and Iranian foreign ministers discuss regional issues

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov discussed regional developments on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. "Current regional and international issues were discussed with an emphasis on the situation around Iran," ⁠Russia's Foreign Ministry said in a statement after the meeting. Russia to Respond to Germany’s Cultural Centre Move

Russia will close Goethe-Institut branches in Moscow, St Petersburg and Yekaterinburg following Germany’s decision to shut the Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Thursday. Speaking in Vladivostok, Lavrov also denied Russian involvement in a drone incident at Leipzig Airport earlier in August. Iran’s president thanks Putin for Russia’s backing in war with US

French Police Arrest Suspect After Caen Car Attack

CAEN: French police arrested a Russian national of Chechen origin after a car was deliberately driven into a crowd in Caen, killing two men believed to be Afghan and injuring nine others. Officials said the 26-year-old suspect was involved in a fight before returning in his car and striking people near the city’s train station. Prosecutors said there was no apparent terrorist motive. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov have talked by phone to discuss the preliminary agreement with the United States. The Iranian diplomat briefed Lavrov on the details of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) and stressed the need for a “complete stop” to Israeli aggression against Lebanon. Iran seeks Russian support amid longstanding military cooperation
