Russian and Iranian foreign ministers discuss regional issues

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov discussed regional developments on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. "Current regional and international issues were discussed with an emphasis on the situation around Iran," ⁠Russia's Foreign Ministry said in a statement after the meeting. BRICS Urges Restraint Amid Middle East Escalation

NEW DELHI: BRICS members, including China, Russia, Iran and the UAE, called for “maximum restraint” in the Middle East as fighting between the US and Iran continued. A joint statement urged protection of civilians, respect for sovereignty and uninterrupted trade, energy and shipping routes. Russia to Respond to Germany’s Cultural Centre Move

Russia will close Goethe-Institut branches in Moscow, St Petersburg and Yekaterinburg following Germany’s decision to shut the Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Thursday. Speaking in Vladivostok, Lavrov also denied Russian involvement in a drone incident at Leipzig Airport earlier in August.
