Rawalpindi court grants remand in Hina Javed case

RAWALPINDI: A duty magistrate in Rawalpindi on Sunday remanded Hina Javed’s husband and a servant in police custody for three days in connection with her murder. Hina was found dead in her apartment’s washroom on Thursday, with police reporting signs of torture and a wire around her neck. Rawalpindi woman found dead in apartment

RAWALPINDI: Police have registered a murder case after a 45-year-old woman was found dead with her hands tied behind her back at an apartment. The FIR was lodged on Aug 20 at Civil Lines police station under Sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code on her brother Fahad’s complaint. Army deployment authorised for Rawalpindi security

RAWALPINDI: The federal government has authorised the deployment of Pakistan Army personnel in Rawalpindi for six months to perform “sensitive security duties”, according to an Interior Ministry order dated Aug 21. The decision followed a request from the Punjab Home Department and was made under Article 245 of the Constitution. Nullah Lai faces flood risk amid heavy rains in Rawalpindi, Islamabad

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Wednesday issued a flood alert for Rawalpindi's Nullah Lai after three days of continuous rainfall in the twin cities since Monday. Imran Khan's sister Noreen injured after fall at construction site

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan's sister was injured after falling while crossing an under-construction sewerage line near Dahgal Naka, Rawalpindi, on Tuesday. Noreen slipped and fell into the excavation while attempting to cross the site. She sustained injuries to her hands, feet and nose.
