Heavy Rain Disrupts Routine in Twin Cities

RAWALPINDI: Heavy rain lashed Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Tuesday, flooding low-lying areas and sharply raising water levels in Leh Nullah. The PMD reported 29 feet at Kattarian and 23.5 feet at Gawalmandi, prompting evacuations as catchment areas received heavy rainfall. Several parts of Islamabad also recorded significant rain, with drains overflowing. Rawalpindi authorities declared a holiday for educational institutions, while officials urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel amid the continuing downpour and urban flooding.
