Saudi, Lebanese officials discuss ties and regional developments

Any attack on Makkah or Madinah is a ‘red line’, says Pakistan’s PM Sharif

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has told the UN General Assembly that any attack on the holy cities of Makkah or Madinah would be a “red line”. Saudi Arabia’s air defences destroyed a Houthi drone south of Makkah before it entered prohibited airspace over the holy city last week. Iraq seeks energy links with Turkey, Jordan and Syria

Prime Minister Ali Al Zaidi said in his speech that Iraq wanted to develop energy links with Turkey, Jordan and Syria to help address the Strait of Hormuz bottleneck. Lebanon's PM warns of looming peacekeeping 'vacuum'

Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam called on the UN to “avert the vacuum” that could be left by the departure of peacekeeping troops.
