Syria, Saudi Arabia sign defense agreement as Al Shara returns to Riyadh

Syrian ​President ⁠Ahmad Al Shara met Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Riyadh on Wednesday, on his second visit to the kingdom in weeks. The two men witnessed the signing of several agreements covering military co-operation, energy, infrastructure and other fields, Syrian official media said. The Syrian Foreign Ministry said the defence agreement was the most notable but did not give details. It called the visit a "significant step towards strengthening historical ties".
