Germany, France and UK condemn Iran’s Gulf attacks

The foreign ⁠ministers ⁠of Germany, France, and Britain have denounced ⁠Iran’s attacks on commercial shipping in ⁠the Strait of Hormuz and on regional nations. “We ‌condemn Iran’s heinous attacks on merchant shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and on countries in ⁠the region including Qatar, ⁠Kuwait, Oman and Jordan,” they said in a ⁠joint statement. Iran doesn’t want other countries involved in Hormuz mine clearance

Responding to Macron’s comment that France is prepared to get involved in demining efforts in the Strait of Hormuz, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson says that Iran has refused to allow any other country to participate in these efforts. Baghaei says that Iran is capable of doing it and that, as per the MoU, it has the authority to do so. New hantavirus cases emerge as governments quarantine cruise passenger

Hantavirus infections have been confirmed in France and the United States among passengers repatriated from the expedition cruise ship MV Hondius, health officials said Monday, as more than 20 countries imposed quarantine measures on returning travellers linked to the outbreak. The outbreak has so far resulted in eight reported cases, including three deaths, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). The victims were a Dutch husband and wife and a German woman. France will host an international meeting in June dedicated to the long-touted two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the French foreign minister announced on Thursday.
