France has launched a judicial investigation into a war crimes complaint over an Israeli airstrike on a Beirut residential building in November 2024. French-Lebanese artist Ali Cherri filed the complaint after losing both parents in the attack, which killed seven civilians. Two investigating judges have been appointed to examine the case, described by his lawyer as a first.
