Israeli forces uproot more than 100 olive trees in occupied West Bank

Israeli forces have uprooted more than 100 olive trees belonging to Palestinian farmers in the town of Deir Istiya in the occupied West Bank, the Wafa news agency is reporting. The agency reported that 135 olive trees were destroyed in the attack on the town, which lies 15km (9 miles) southwest of Nablus. Israeli forces attack olive pickers with gas bombs northwest of Tulkarem

Punjab announces compensation for flood victims 

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has announced compensation for flood victims saying that the provincial government will provide Rs 20,000 per acre to farmers in deluge-hit areas. Rs 1 million will be provided to those whose house had been demolished, and Rs 500,000 will be provided to those were left without their mud brick residence. Also, Rs 500,000 will be given to people who have suffered loss of livestock, Bokhari said adding that the initial survey of the damage assessment has been completed. Read More…

Punjab CM launches 1,000 free tractors scheme for farmers

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has formally launched the ‘CM Punjab Wheat Incentive Program’, which includes a scheme to provide 1,000 free tractors to wheat farmers. Under the Punjab free tractors scheme, 55-horsepower tractors will be given free of cost to 1,000 successful farmers, who were selected through a digital balloting process. The first tractor was awarded to Kausar Parveen, a female farmer from Bahawalnagar. Syrian farmers bombed by Israeli drone
