Government Raises Proposed Wheat Price for 2027 Season

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has set the illustrative wheat price for 2027 at Rs4,500 per maund, an increase of Rs1,000 from last year. The government aims to ease farmers’ financial pressures amid rising production costs and inflation, encourage wheat cultivation, boost domestic output and strengthen Pakistan’s food security while reducing reliance on imports.
