Three Israeli soldiers – a 19-year-old sergeant in Battalion 931 and two lieutenants, aged 20 and 21, in the “Geffen” Battalion – were killed in fighting in northern Gaza, Israel’s military said. At least 134 Israeli soldiers had been killed so far in the ground invasion of Gaza, while about 740 have been wounded, the UN reported, citing the Israeli military. It was not known if the latest deaths were included in the total number of Israeli casualties reported by the UN.
