Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry is in Beijing meeting top Chinese officials and his counterparts from several other Muslim nations, including Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Indonesia. Cairo looked forward “to a bigger role by important international parties like China to halt the attacks against Palestinians in Gaza”, Mr. Shoukry told Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in a meeting. He said that strong Egyptian and Arab positions prevented Israel from its policy of displacing Palestinians from Gaza, but other countries gave cover to the current Israeli attack.
