Leaders from Europe, the Gulf and Asia welcome the two-week truce and Iran’s move to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, but warn that sustained diplomacy is needed to secure a lasting settlement. Global leaders from Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and from European countries welcomed the deal and praised the mediation push. UN officials and regional powers expressed hope that the Islamabad talks would pave the way for a lasting agreement.
