Pakistan’s UN Ambassador Munir Akram denied allegations of Afghanistan and the US government of Pakistan’s support to the Taliban fighters. He said that those allegations emanating from the Kabul government are trying to explain the failure of their national forces to resist the insurgents. “We tried to promote a political settlement; we are still trying to do that in Qatar, and we are also trying to do that with the Troika-plus format,” he added.
