Tel Aviv: It emerged on Sunday that Israel had revealed a plan to use up more than $300 million to double the Jewish settler population in the Golan Heights. The announcement came after 40 years after it usurped the region seized from Syria. “Our goal is to double the population in the Golan,” the right-wing Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said as he introduced his one billion shekel ($317 million) initiative to enhance various facilities.
