Faheem Mughal, a journalist who had been laid off a few months before, committed suicide after finding himself unable to cope with unemployment, rising inflation, and a Rs60,000 debt.

Mughal was discovered hanging from his ceiling by a piece of fabric on Friday morning.

A wife, five daughters, and a son survived the deceased.

A philanthropist visited Mughal’s home after his death and spoke with his wife and daughter in a video that went viral on Facebook.
