On Monday evening, an IED strapped to a motorcycle exploded in the parking lot of a local cloth market, killing one woman and injuring 14 others, including three police officers. The incident occurred barely four days after the Saddar blast, which killed one person and injured nine others. Militants used a bicycle to carry out the blast in Saddar, while the IED was planted on a motorcycle in Kharadar's local textile market on Monday.  

Young cricketer dies of heatstroke during match

Young cricketer Omar Khan's home is in sorrow after he died of heatstroke at the Karachi Cricket Ground on Sunday. The scorching heat in Karachi has also caused problems for the players. According to Umar's brother, the player has two children and his wife is battling cancer. According to the report, the fast bowler fell on the wicket as soon as he bowled the last ball of the last over. He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.  

Film by director killed in Ukraine to be shown at Cannes

The Cannes Film Festival will screen the farewell film of Lithuanian director Mantas Kvedaravičius, who was assassinated by Russian soldiers in Ukraine last month. Kvedaravicius was apparently arrested and slain while filming a followup to his renowned documentary "Mariupolis," about the violence in the Donbas region. His fiancée Hanna Bilobrova, who was with him in Mariupol during the siege, carried his footage out of the country, where it was edited by Dounia Sichov.  

UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed passes away

Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the United Arab Emirates, died on Friday, according to the state news agency WAM. "The Ministry of Presidential Affairs expresses its condolences to the people of the United Arab Emirates, the Arab and Islamic nations, and the entire globe on the passing of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates," according to a Wam statement. The UAE government declared three days of public holiday and 40 days of mourning following his death.  

Two women killed after violent attack at Swedish school

Two women in their 50s were killed in a violent attack at a secondary school in Malmö, Sweden, according to police. On suspicion of murder, an 18-year-old student at the institution has been arrested. He was reportedly armed with a knife and an axe, according to local media, though authorities have yet to corroborate the details. The two women, who worked at Malmö Latin School, were rushed to the hospital but died as a result of their injuries.  

Covid-19: Pakistan’s positivity rate below 5% for the first time in a while

Pakistan's COVID-19 positivity rate fell below 5% for the first time in over a month, with only 2,465 new infections reported in the last 24 hours, according to statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Wednesday morning. According to NCOC, after 49,553 diagnostic tests were completed across the country, 2,465 people were determined to be infected with coronavirus. As a result of the decrease in new cases, the country's coronavirus positive rate has dropped to 4.97 percent.  

TikTok madness takes another life

This recent incident occurred in Sindh's Nawabshah district, where Shehzad, 28, was shooting a TikTok video near a railway track when he was hit by a train. Security forces kill 13 terrorists in cleanup operation

Youngster attacks family of four over break-up of engagement

On Sunday, a kid attacked and injured four members of a family in Civil Lines police limits over the termination of his engagement. Yousuf, a resident of Peepal Wala Town, told the police that he had broken his daughter's engagement to Huraira because of his bad character. Huraira allegedly entered Yousuf's home in a passion and attacked the family members with a sharp-edged object. Rasheeda Bibi without Yousuf, her daughter Aiman, son Ali, and Faisal were all injured as a result.  

Cheslie Kryst, former Miss USA commits suicide

Cheslie Kryst, a former Miss USA, died at the age of 30 after falling from her New York apartment hours after posting a mysterious message on Instagram. The model, according to investigators, committed suicide. Kryst jumped from her high-rise apartment in New York City on Sunday morning, according to police, and was pronounced dead at the scene. She lived on the ninth storey of the apartment, according to sources, but she was last seen on the 29th floor terrace.

Lady doctor along with her 3 children shot dead

A mother and her three children were discovered shot to death in a house in Lahore on Wednesday. The deaths of a lady doctor named Dr Naheed and her three children, two daughters and a boy, were discovered in a residence in Lahore's Gajumata district, according to police. Dr. Naheed was a gynaecologist who ran a private clinic near her home, according to the authorities.  

Cop kills himself to avoid arrest for murder

To avoid being arrested for his alleged role in the murder of a recently married youth in front of his mother and sister, a police officer in Karachi took his own life. The case has taken a fresh turn as police alleged the constable committed suicide to escape being arrested during a nighttime search in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Block 7 by the Special Investigation Unit of Karachi police.  

Patients die due to negligence of doctors at Services Hospital

At Services Hospital, a patient died as a result of doctors' alleged negligence. According to a report by Baaghi TV, a patient died at Services Hospital in Lahore, Punjab's provincial capital, owing to alleged doctor carelessness. The patient's family members contested the patient's death. Meanwhile, family members claimed that the patient died as a result of the doctors' incompetence. Doctors, on the other hand, stated that before arriving at the hospital the patient had passed away. Following protests by the patient's family and attempts to torture the doctors, doctors have stopped functioning in the emergency room.

Most wanted TTP commander killed in Afghanistan

Eight year old raped, strangled to death in New Karachi

According to authorities, an eight-year-old kid was abducted, raped, and killed in New Karachi on Thursday. The child went missing on Monday after leaving the house to play, according to the victim's family. After hours of searching, his father filed a missing persons report with the police station. A resident in the region discovered the eight-year-body in a nearby cemetery early Wednesday morning. The child was raped and strangled to death, according to a post-mortem study. His body was also covered in torture marks. The police have filed a FIR under the rape and murder sections.  

7 family members killed in gas leakage in Toba Tek Singh

Bodies of two women found in a floating drum

Two women's bodies were found in a drum floating along a canal in Mamukanjan, Faisalabad. According to reports, the tragic occurrence occurred in Faisalabad's Mamukanjan neighbourhood, where the bodies of two ladies were discovered in a drum located in a canal. Local residents alerted the authorities after pulling the drum from the canal and discovering the bodies of the two women.  

Four year old girl killed in crossfire during robbery

During a robbery at a mini-mart near Landhi Manzil Pump in Karachi, a four-year-old girl was killed. Injuries were also sustained by a robbery suspect. According to the police, an exchange of gunfire occurred between the mart's guard and three dacoits as they exited after ransacking the market. The exchange of fire and the two criminals fleeing the store are seen on closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage.  

2 robbers dead, 3 policemen injured in shootout

During a heavy exchange of fire between police and armed robbers Saturday morning in Islamabad, two thieves were killed and three police officers were injured. According to police, members of the famed Bilal Gang were escaping after an attempted robbery at a house in Islamabad's F8-I area. The cops pursued the robbers as they fled with millions of rupees in cash and jewellery on Friday night. During the chase, both sides engaged in a violent exchange of fire.  

Abid Farooq alias Professor Baaghi passed away

Mike Nesmith, one of the four members of the 1960s television and pop sensation The Monkees, died on Friday, according to Micky Dolenz and his family. He was 78 years old at the time. The group was formed in the United States to compete with The Beatles in the United Kingdom. The Monkees were a commercial smash, with catchy pop hits that are instantly recognisable more than 50 years later. They were dubbed "The Pre-Fab Four" — a play on their artifice and The Beatles' nickname.  

14 year old boy shot dead in alleged police encounter

A 14-year-old Karachi youngster was shot dead in an alleged encounter, triggering protests by his relatives. Arsalan Mehsud was shot and killed by police in Karachi's Orangi-5 neighbourhood, while his friend was injured by bullets. Mehsud's relatives arrived at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital after the event and staged a sit-in protest to demand justice for the boy. Mehsud's relatives disputed the police version, claiming that he was a student who had done nothing wrong.

Muhammad Ziauddin, senior Pakistani journalist passes away

Senior journalist Muhammad Ziauddin died in Islamabad at the age of 83 after a long illness, according to a report by PTV News. Ziauddin, who was born in the Indian city of Madras in 1938, died at the age of 83 at his home in Islamabad. In 1952, five years after the split, Zia-ud-family Din's moved to Dhaka, in what was then East Pakistan. He moved to Pakistan eight years later, in 1960, and there for the remainder of his life. Ziauddin enrolled at Karachi University to pursue a degree in journalism.    

Famous Broadway songwriter Stephen Sondheim dies at 91

Stephen Sondheim, the legendary Broadway songwriter largely credited with revolutionising American musical theatre, died Friday at the age of 91, confirmed his lawyer, according to The New York Times. Sondheim, who is best known for musicals such as "West Side Story," died suddenly at his home in Roxbury, Connecticut, the day after celebrating Thanksgiving with friends, according to F. Richard Pappas. Sondheim, who was born in New York City on March 22, 1930, has always been interested in musical theatre. He began playing the piano at the age of seven and was acquainted with Oscar Hammerstein II, half of the famous musical theatre writing duo Rodgers and Hammerstein, who wrote "Oklahoma!" and "The Sound of Music."  

Young journalist hangs himself for being in debt

Faheem Mughal, a journalist who had been laid off a few months before, committed suicide after finding himself unable to cope with unemployment, rising inflation, and a Rs60,000 debt. Mughal was discovered hanging from his ceiling by a piece of fabric on Friday morning. A wife, five daughters, and a son survived the deceased. A philanthropist visited Mughal's home after his death and spoke with his wife and daughter in a video that went viral on Facebook. The deceased's eldest daughter revealed that the family's financial situation was so difficult that they often went without food for days.
