US President Donald Trump has criticised the recent moves by several Western nations to recognise a Palestinian state, describing them as a “reward to Hamas”, according to the White House. White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt told reporters that Trump firmly disagreed with the decisions, arguing they did little to address the ongoing conflict in Gaza. “He feels this does not do anything to release the hostages, which is the primary goal right now in Gaza, does nothing to end this conflict and bring this war to a close,” Leavitt said.
