The leaders of France, Germany, and Britain have warned Iran against attacking Israel, saying any retaliation for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran would jeopardize an “opportunity for peace and stability” in the Middle East. In a joint statement issued overnight, the countries said there can “be no further delay” in the resumption of negotiations, stressing the “fighting must end now, and all hostages still detained by Hamas must be released”. It added: “The people of Gaza need urgent and unfettered delivery and distribution of aid.”
