Timbuktu is well known for its enchanting stories and trade of gold and salt but the real treasure is hidden in its libraries. The libraries contain all the knowledge about the cosmopolitan city’s golden age between the 15th and 16th centuries and are located in modern Mali, at the edge of Sahara Desert.
