Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro suspended Israeli weapons purchases after dozens of people were killed while waiting for aid in Gaza. Israel is one of the main providers of weapons to the South American country’s security forces, which are engaged in a decades-long conflict with leftist guerrillas, right-wing paramilitaries and drug cartels. Mr Petro made his announcement after Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinians waiting for food aid, killing at least 100. Dozens were injured.
