An official from the Arab League criticized Israel for spreading false narratives and waging a “media war” online. Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Media and Communication Sector, said efforts must be intensified to “contain false Israeli narrative, and work to strengthen media presence in support of Palestinian cause, in the light of violent speeches inciting hatred and ideological extremism”. He added that software and algorithms were being used to suppress Palestinian content and prevent it from being seen on digital platforms.
