As we reported earlier, Zelenskyy has said France and Ukraine have prepared a “historic agreement” to boost Kyiv’s defence capabilities during his Paris trip. Macron’s office said the aim of the trip is to “put French excellence in the arms industry at the service of Ukraine’s defence” and “enable it to acquire the systems it needs to respond to Russian aggression”. Last month, Macron said France would equip Ukraine with more Mirage fighter jets after initially pledging to deliver six along with supplies of Aster 30 surface-to-air missiles for use in Kyiv’s SAMP/T air defence batteries.
