Almost four in 10 university students in the UAE use vapes, research has found, the highest figure among Arab countries analysed. Wide availability, many flavours, heavy online promotion and high incomes could be sparking interest in the nicotine products, researchers said. While less harmful than smoking tobacco, vaping poses a health risk, according to doctors, who have suggested that tougher controls on availability could be considered. Currently, they can be bought in the UAE by anyone aged 18 or over.
