The US military started to build a temporary pier to significantly boost food and humanitarian aid deliveries to the Gaza Strip, the Pentagon said. Press secretary Maj Gen Pat Ryder said the pier should be operational by early May. “I can confirm that US military vessels … have begun to construct the initial stages of the temporary pier and causeway at sea,” he told reporters.
