Chinese short video platform TikTok has become the most downloaded social media app across the world and has overtaken Facebook. Foreign media reported that a global survey of downloads in 2020 shows that TikTok, a video-sharing app developed in China, is on top of the list of social media providers for the first time since the study was first conducted in 2018. More than a million people in America installed TikTok.
