Cyprus reports new coronavirus ‘Deltacron’

According to the reports of IG News, Scientists in Cyprus have detected an infection with Covid-19 that integrates the two mutant Delta and Omicron. The Cypriot Health Minister Michalis Hadjipantelas confirmed the finding of the new strain of the Coronavirus and named the new mutant Deltacron. “Currently there is a co-infection between Omicron and Delta and we found this strain which is a mixture of both,” Leondios Kostrikis, Professor of Biological Sciences at the University of Cyprus and Head of the Laboratory of Biotechnology and Molecular Virology, said in an interview with Sigma TV.

Omicron variant: Test result of 15 people still awaited

Days after the first suspected instance of the new Covid-19 variant Omicron was discovered in Pakistan, the genome sequencing of the samples remains uncertain since the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) has failed to confirm the variant. The health department sent samples of family members suspected of possessing the Omicron variant, as well as individuals who came into touch with them, for complete genome sequencing analysis on Thursday.    

New variant of Coronavirus may have reached India: Report

A new variant of the corona is also expected to arrive in Pakistan's neighboring country, India. An Indian passenger travelling from South Africa to India got tested positive for Covid-19, people are skeptical whether it is the new variant Omicron or not, and the Indian Health Department is to find out. According to a news release, the passenger had reached Delhi from South Africa where he was tested. The Indian Health Department has also started searching for people who have come to India from South Africa in the last ten days.  

Coronavirus: 13 more deaths and 363 new cases reported

In the last 24 hours, 363 new instances of Covid-19 were recorded in Pakistan, bringing the total number of reported infections to 1,283,223. According to the most recent pandemic statistics given by the National Command and Operation Centre, a total of 37,148 samples were tested over this time period, with 322 proving to be positive (NCOC). According to the report, the infection rate was 0.88 percent. Thirteen additional individuals died from the viral sickness in the preceding 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 28,690 across the country.

EU to permit booster shots amidst hike in coronavirus cases

Brussels/Prague: On Nov 24, it was reported that coronavirus infections broke records in parts of Europe, making it an epicenter of a pandemic, and made health experts think again about booster vaccination shots. Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary all reported a myriad of daily infections. The situation arose from winter which clasped the continent and mass indoors gatherings in the run-up to Christmas, contributing a perfect breeding basis for COVID-19.

People with mental illnesses more likely to contract Covid-19

According to US medical experts, those with mental illnesses are more prone to contract the novice coronavirus. People with mental illnesses, such as heart disease and diabetes, are more prone to develop Covid 19, according to US researchers, therefore they may need another dosage of the vaccine after the first. 'Booster doses,' in other words, should be administered early and foremost.
