Jordanian Foreign Minster Ayman Al Safadi met Syria’s President Bashar Al Assad in Damascus on Sunday in the first such high-level meeting between officials from two countries since the Gaza war. An official Jordanian statement said Mr Al Safadi relayed a message during the encounter from King Abdullah about “the dangerous escalation in the area, and efforts to end it”, which require stopping the Israeli “aggression” on Gaza and Lebanon.
