The National Assembly (NA) is scheduled to elect Pakistan’s 23rd prime minister today (Monday), after Imran Khan was removed from office in a no-confidence vote on Saturday night.

Shehbaz Sharif of the PML-N and Shah Mahmood Qureshi of the PTI are the two candidates running for prime minister, with the former having a better chance of winning.

The NA session to elect the new House leader, which was scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., will now begin at 2 p.m.
