WHO says six hospitals evacuated in Iran, system holding up 

A World Health Organisation (WHO) official on Monday said that the US-Israeli war on Iran has led to the evacuation of six hospitals but that so far the system appeared to be holding up and authorities have not sought emergency relief from the global health agency. WHO upbeat on scaling up aid under Gaza ceasefire terms

A World Health Organisation official said on Friday that it should be possible to scale up aid deliveries to Gaza to about 600 lorries a day under the terms of an Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal. "I think the possibility is very much there and specifically when other crossings will be opened up," Rik Peeperkorn, WHO representative for the Occupied Palestinian Territory, told a Geneva press briefing. WHO chief calls for end to hospital attacks in Gaza

The head of the World Health Organisation on Monday called for an end to attacks on hospitals in Gaza after Israel struck one and raided another in the past few days. "Hospitals in Gaza have once again become battlegrounds and the health system is under severe threat," WHO director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a post on X. UN shipment of medical aid arrives at Beirut’s Rafic Hariri airport

A shipment of medical aid from the World Health Organisation and the UN’s refugee agency arrived at Beirut’s Rafic Hariri airport on Friday, with support from the UAE, the Lebanese government said. WHO says 346,209 people internally displaced in Lebanon

The World Health Organisation said on Thursday that 346,209 people have been internally displaced in Lebanon, with 142,361 are living in shelters. "Hundreds more are living on streets with no access to health care," it said in a post on social media. UAE urgently evacuates hundreds of Gaza patients and family members

The UAE, in co-operation with the World Health Organisation, conducted an urgent humanitarian initiative to evacuate 97 critically wounded people and patients from the Gaza Strip. Gaza polio vaccination campaign beats targets set for first phase

A polio vaccination campaign in central Gaza has exceeded targets set by UN agencies as it entered its third day on Tuesday, with the World Health Organisation saying more than 160,000 children under 10 had been reached. The UN-led initiative aims to inoculate 640,000 children across Gaza after the polio virus was detected in sewage samples in Gaza.
