Former Wapda chairman appears before NAB

Lahore: On Monday, Former Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) Chairman Lt Gen (retd) Muzammil Hussain appeared before the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) office. As per reports, Hussain was interrogated about corruption worth Rs753 million in the Tarbela Fourth Hydropower project. “All allegations leveled against me are false,” Hussain said while speaking to journalists. Nepra approves charges of extra Rs3.99 per unit

It emerged that the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) allowed ex-Wapda distribution companies (Discos) to charge their consumers an additional fuel cost of Rs3.99 per unit as fuel charges adjustment for April. According to a Nepra notification, Discos had charged consumers a reference fuel tariff of Rs6.61 per unit in April, but the actual fuel cost turned out to be Rs10.6 per unit, a difference of Rs3.99. Wapda chairman calls on Chinese Ambassador

Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) Chairman Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain (Retd) met the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong to discuss the progress in the investigations of the Dasu incident. They also discussed the resumption of construction work and the security of the Chinese working in Pakistan.
