Pakistan airspace clear as Ethiopian volcano ash moves towards India

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has said the country’s airspace is clear and its atmosphere will not be affected by ash from a “silent” volcano that erupted in Ethiopia after 12,000 years, with the clouds now moving towards India and China. Indonesia’s Mount Ibu erupts again, spews huge ash tower

A volcano in eastern Indonesia erupted on Monday, spewing a huge ash tower more than five kilometres into the sky after authorities raised its alert level to the second-highest last week. No damage or casualties were immediately reported but images showed a column of ash soaring into the sky on Halmahera Island in North Maluku province. More than 2,000 residents have been evacuated to temporary shelters amid heightened volcanic activities in a volcano in eastern Indonesia, a local official said Tuesday.
