Spain condemns ‘resurgence of violence in southern Lebanon’

Spain’s foreign ministry has called for the “immediate release” of a Spanish-Palestinian activist, who was abducted on Thursday by the Israeli army from a captured vessel in the Gaza-bound humanitarian flotilla. “The government of Spain demands his immediate release,” the ministry said in a comment sent to the AFP news agency shortly after an Israeli court extended his detention by two days. People in Spain protest in support of, and against, US military action in Venezuela

There were protests and celebrations across Spain on Sunday over Maduro’s abduction by the US. Near the US embassy in Madrid, about 200 people decried Western foreign intervention. Many of those were left-wing Spaniards. Elsewhere in the city, Venezuelans were out for a second consecutive night, celebrating what they say could be a new dawn for their country. “Fascists. Green Party urges UK to join other countries in Eurovision boycott
