According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, 5.8 million Ukrainian refugees are living outside Ukraine since the Russian invasion began in February 2022. Many people have sought refuge in neighbouring countries. The latest data shows 1,014,210 refugees recorded in Poland, 195,550 in Romania, 6,280 in Russia, 64,470 in Hungary, 147,370 in Slovakia, 138,060 in Moldova and 41,310 in Belarus. War causes $2.6bn of damage to cultural heritage: UNESCO

A United Nations agency stated that the Russian invasion of Ukraine so far caused about $2.6bn in damage to the country’s heritage and cultural sites. About 250 monuments had either been damaged or destroyed, mainly in the east of the country, UNESCO said. After full fledge Russian invasion, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has imposed a stricter curfew in the Ukrainian capital.
