Blast claims lives in Balochistan’s Duki district

QUETTA: Three brothers were killed and a relative injured when a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) struck their pick-up in Duki district on Sunday, police said. SSP Mansoor Ahmed Buzdar said the vehicle was crossing a seasonal stream near Killi Bakhtair Khan in Luni tehsil when the blast occurred. Road in Duki named after acid attack survivor Dr Nasir

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Sunday announced that a major road in Duki district would be named after Dr Mahnoor Nasir in recognition of her bravery, resilience and medical services. The 29-year-old doctor was seriously injured in an acid attack at Quetta’s Civil Hospital in June. 5.0-magnitude earthquake jolts Quetta, adjoining areas

A 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck Quetta and surrounding areas on Sunday evening, said the National Seismic Monitoring Centre. The epicentre of the quake was approximately 65 kilometres west of Quetta, and its depth was 25km, it added. No loss of life or property has been reported so far. Death toll from suicide blast at BNP rally in Quetta rises to 15

The death toll from the suicide blast at Balochistan National Party’s (BNP) rally on Quetta's Sariab Road has risen to 15, Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar said on Wednesday. With regards to the injured, Kakar said that out of the 38 wounded in the explosion, eight are currently being treated at the trauma centre, and an investigation committee has been formed to probe the incident. Two killed, many injured in Quetta blast

At least two people were killed and 17 were injured in a blast near police mobile in Quetta. As per details, a police mobile was targeted at Double Road, Quetta, resulting in death of two on the spot and injuries to 17 others, including three policemen. A vehicle and motorcycles were also damaged in the blast. The injured and bodies were moved to the Trauma Centre of Quetta Civil Hospital. Blast rocks Pishin hospital

At least seven injured in blast occurred at a hospital near Pishin Bypass in Quetta, Balochistan. According to police officials, the blast caused by a gas cylinder leak, damaged the hospital building, leaving two of injured in critical condition. Armed men kidnap 10 Punjab residents from Quetta

Unidentified armed men kidnapped 10 people hailing from Punjab from Shuban picnic point in Zarghon Ghar, Quetta. According to details, armed men took 16 people hostage who were enjoying at Shuban picnic point in Zarghon Ghar. The DG Levies said the armed men released six hostages after checking their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs). Several killed as Quetta-bound bus plunges into ditch

At least 27 people have been killed after a bus overturned and fell into a ditch in Washuk, Balochistan on Wednesday. The accident occurred due to over speeding, said police adding that women and children were among the deceased. The ill-fated bus was travelling from Turbat to Quetta.
