New hantavirus cases emerge as governments quarantine cruise passenger

Hantavirus infections have been confirmed in France and the United States among passengers repatriated from the expedition cruise ship MV Hondius, health officials said Monday, as more than 20 countries imposed quarantine measures on returning travellers linked to the outbreak. The outbreak has so far resulted in eight reported cases, including three deaths, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). The victims were a Dutch husband and wife and a German woman. Cricketer M Nawaz tests positive for Covid-19

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, Muhammad Nawaz has contracted coronavirus during the second round of testing in the Capital and has been quarantined according to Covid-19 protocols. The other squad members are tested negative and the training session will be commenced on Friday. Turkey lifts ban on Pakistani students

The quarantine ban on students going to Turkey from Pakistan has also been lifted. According to the Pakistani embassy, university hostels have been allocated in Istanbul and Ankara for the Quarantine of Students. Number of quarantined patients increases

Due to the 4th wave of coronavirus and fetal delta variant, the number of infected patients has increased. Around 51,262 people are in quarantine and more than 2,860 are still under critical medical care. Sindh has the highest number of quarantine patients that is 33,68.
